Spin the Bottle

No bottle, or not the right table to spin it on? Spin one on your screen. Lay your phone flat in the middle of the circle and press Spin: the bottle turns, slows down and stops pointing at one of you. Or type the players' names and their names appear around the bottle, so it works on a computer or a screen everyone can see.

This is the family-friendly version: the bottle picks a player, and your group decides what that player does.

1. Sit in a circle and put the phone flat in the middle, or type everyone's names.
2. Spin: press Spin or tap the bottle.
3. See who it picks: the player the bottle points at takes the turn.
4. Pass it on: that player spins next.

• • Who goes first in a board game or card game
• • Truth or dare: the player it picks chooses a family-friendly truth or dare
• • Tell a joke or a story: whoever it points at has the stage
• • Classroom: pick who answers the next question or reads aloud
• • Chores: let the bottle choose who clears the table

Need to pick one name from a long list instead? Use the Random Name Picker.

Yes. With names, every player has exactly the same chance, chosen by your browser's secure random number generator before the bottle starts to turn. Without names, the bottle stops at a random angle, so where it lands only depends on where everyone sits. Nothing is sent to a server, and the names stay on your device.
