Random Name Picker

The random name picker puts every name from your list on a spinning wheel and picks one at random. Teachers use it to call on students, choose who presents next or hand out classroom jobs, and it works just as well for team meetings and giveaways.

Paste your class list straight from a spreadsheet, a document or an email. Names on separate lines work, and so does a single line with commas between the names. The wheel updates as soon as the list changes.

1. Add your names: type or paste them, one per line. Up to 100 names.
2. Spin: tap the wheel or the Spin button in the middle.
3. Call on the winner: the arrow at the top points to the picked name.
4. Remove and spin: take that name off the wheel and spin again, so nobody is picked twice until everyone has had a turn.

Your list is saved in this browser, so the same class is there tomorrow. Put it on the projector or the interactive whiteboard and let the class watch the wheel spin.

Every name has exactly the same chance on every spin, wherever it sits on the wheel. The pick is made by your browser's secure random number generator the moment you press Spin. Student names never leave your device: nothing is uploaded, and the list is only shared if you press Share this list yourself.
